KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS LOVE COMPUTER LESSONS!
This unit focuses on students’ backgrounds, past and current experiences, memories and on important people in their lives. It provides them with opportunities to compare themselves with others in their class and with people from different places and times.
Drawing MeChildren learnt to use the digital painting program, Tux Paint and put their new skills to use drawing a self-portrait. Early core operation skills, such as mouse control and program management were reinforced in this desktop publishing project.
Students used this opportunity to talk about how they are the same as their friends and how they are different. They considered physical characteristics, personal qualities and abilities, and preferences for clothing and interests.

I like to use a computer!Students write about a personally significant event - their new computer lessons! This is an early Word Processing activity in which a digital photo of each child using a computer was taken. The students inserted it into a Word document and copied a line of typing. Some students formatted the text by changing it's colour.
