Real or Not?Image editing software gives you the license to change photographic reality. Students began this activity by discussing how commercial photographs are often edited to enhance the subject's appearance, creating a look quite different from reality. We talked about how this is often applied to images found in the media. Subject MatterEach of the year 3 classes chose a different subject to create a variety of artworks. They chose portrait photographs of themselves and photos of everyday objects to work with. Software used was Adobe PhotoShop Elements and Microsoft Paint. Using PhotoShop Elements students enhanced and improved photographs. They cropped the image, lassoed parts of it to select and cut and paste elements from one image to another. They added and applied colourful and creative effects to their images. In order to achieve this they learnt about creating layers and applying filters. Students comfortably used the following Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Paint features to publish their work:
