3DA - ILLUSTRATE AN IDIOM

Idiom: A phrase or expression with a meaning different from the meanings of the individual words…  (it) refers instead to a figurative meaning that is known only through conventional use…  Idioms hence tend to confuse those not already familiar with them… (http://www.answers.com/topic/idiom)

Students used Photoshop Elements features to create their graphical interpretation of their choice of idiom. The class sat down as a group and brainstormed ideas for illustrating the idioms. This helped students to understand the definition of an idiom, how to identify its use and to know when to use an idiom to enhance their writing. It was also lots of fun!

This artwork was displayed in the LEPS Art Show 2007.
