Adults and Teacher Training

Whilst successfully running early children’s group lessons, Cheryl recognised the need for adults to access individualised computer skills lessons. This led to the establishment of Computer Tutor Training Services, facilitating small group evening classes for adults covering a wide range of computer skill sets. Three evening classes per week were run during a period of five years.
 
Cheryl’s 10 years of specialised one-on-one adult tutoring continues. Clients seeking Cheryl’s expertise in providing customised computer lessons are seen by appointment.
 
Beginning in 2000 Cheryl developed, wrote and facilitated teacher training workshops for Dept of Education and Training Northern Sydney Region covering a wide range of computer skill sets, from beginner to advanced, using a wide variety of software applications. Numerous workshops each year were held in several venues, including DET Hornsby District Office, Hornsby Heights PS, Chatswood PS, Dural PS, Castle Hill PS and Lindfield East PS. Many of these workshops were over-subscribed necessitating repeat sessions and were held regularly, concluding in 2007. Cheryl’s tutorial course notes were supplied at all adult workshops. About 50 of these plain-English worksheets, covering relevant, practical skills are still in demand and currently in use.
